The original produce terminal building was constructed nearly 100 years ago. The newly renovated mixed-use development will include approximately 153,000 SF of retail space. There will also be approximately 12,000 SF of common space. McKim & Creed provided MEP/S design for the shell and core. The exterior of the building will be restored to its original condition. The existing industrial wood bi-fold doors will be replaced with new commercial glass storefronts to showcase merchant spaces. The existing clerestory windows will be restored to allow natural light to penetrate the building’s interior spaces while the interior structure will be restored and left exposed. The building will be prepared for multi-tenant use consisting of retail and office space.
The building was reduced in size and mass by cutting new pedestrian passageways through it, allowing users easy access from parking on the west. Interior rebuild is targeting USGBC LEED Silver standards. The architect for this project is Antunovich Associates.
McKim & Creed has continued to serve the clients in the building by designing the majority of tenant fit-out projects as space is leased by the Owner. This included a state liquor store, restaurants, a workout gym, and retail several retail stores.
