The Edinboro University’s Baron-Forness Library’s mechanical and electrical systems exceeded their life expectancy and needed to be replaced. McKim & Creed provided design and engineering support to modify the 7-story structure and bring the electrical and mechanical systems up to code. A new sensible cooling HVAC system was designed to control the humidity as the library houses many rare books and pieces of art. Additionally, the building was fully sprinkled, and our team addressed other deferred maintenance needs to the life safety systems throughout the library. The architect for this project is Buehler & Associates.
