This 220,000 SF building was originally an independent apartment complex. However, when purchased by the University, there was a critical need to enhance life safety by adding sprinklers, emergency generators, and by replacing the 2-pipe heating and cooling system. A 4-pipe vertical fan coil, HVAC, and mechanical ventilation system was added. This project was completed while the residents occupied the space and normal activities continued.McKim & Creed was responsible for the design upgrades of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler and life safety systems. The architect for this project is Indovina Associate Architects.
