Hurricane Sandy decimated the New Jersey Shoreline with Union Beach was one of the towns that was hit hardest by the storm. In surpport of the USACE New York District’s Hurricane and Storm Damage Reduction Project, McKim & Creed provided ground survey, aerial topography, topographic mapping, and updates to utility mapping to capture conditions following the Super Storm. Update high-resolution aerial photography was taken at the appropriate scale to produce 1”=30’ scale mapping. The ground control was established by second order with vertical control referenced to NAVD88, and Horizontal control was established by second order traverse and triangulation and tied to the New Jersey Mercator (NAD83) State Plane Coordinate System.
